MONET is a wireless sensor designed to protect paintings and wall-mounted objects; it stands out from other museum sensors because it does not require physical contact with the protected object.
This eliminates the weight and size limitations imposed by similar sensors of previous generations.
Its operating principle relies on micrometric infrared technology to calculate the exact distance between the sensor and the canvas (up to a maximum of 7 cm). If this distance changes by more than 10% (increasing or decreasing), the sensor triggers an alarm, thereby preventing the artwork's removal. Furthermore, when properly calibrated, it can detect attempts to cut the canvas from its frame and identify objects placed between the canvas and the sensor in an attempt to deceive it.
MONET features an internal tamper switch that sends a sabotage signal if an attempt is made to remove the batteries.
Easy to install, the sensor is calibrated by the receiving unit via a dedicated command and is available in a wireless version using the high-security (Grade 3) Wi-Art protocol.
