Optical smoke and temperature detector addressed, sensitivity and programmable operating mode
The detector combines smoke and temperature detection to provide (depending on the mode of use) exceptional sensitivity capable of detecting any type of outbreak (critical outbreaks such as flammable liquid fire with low smoke emission) or a very high rejection to false alarms. The operating mode can be set directly from the control unit by choosing from the following:
- "PLUS" mode (factory reset): the detector signals the alarm if the smoke threshold is exceeded (which can be set as for ED100) or if the temperature threshold is exceeded (which can be set as for ED200). in the event of a rise in temperature, the sensitivity of the smoke detection is brought to the maximum. This operating mode, characterized by a very high sensitivity, allows to detect even the most critical fire outbreaks (eg combustion of alcohol or comparable liquids).
- "OR" mode: the detector signals the alarm if the smoke threshold is exceeded (which can be set as for ED100) or if the temperature threshold is exceeded (which can be set as for ED200). This operating mode, characterized by a fair sensitivity, allows to detect both foci with smoke emission and little heat (e.g. smoldering foci) and foci with low smoke emission and high heat generation (e.g. fire of chemical substances).
- "AND" mode: the detector signals the alarm only if both smoke and temperature thresholds are exceeded at the same time (which can be set as for ED100 and ED200). This operating mode, characterized by low sensitivity, allows to minimize the incidence of false alarms. Given the low reactivity of this operating mode, the conditions must be carefully evaluated before its use.
- "SMOKE" mode: the detector behaves like an ED100.
- "TEMPERATURE" mode: the detector behaves like an ED200.
